Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia recently addressed supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Sunyani, Bono East Region, where he took aim at former President John Dramani Mahama’s record.
He challenged Mahama to identify any significant policies from his six-year presidency that had a positive impact on Ghanaians.
“Is it the loss of Guinea fowls or Dumsor?” Dr. Bawumia remarked, alluding to the controversies of the Guinea fowl project and the persistent power outages that marked Mahama’s administration.

During his speech, Dr. Bawumia emphasized the NPP’s accomplishments, particularly the introduction of the Free Senior High School (SHS) education policy—a program Mahama had initially dismissed as unfeasible.
According to Bawumia, over 5.7 million students have benefitted from this initiative since its implementation.
He further highlighted other NPP achievements, such as the “1 District, 1 Ambulance” initiative, the Agenda 111 healthcare project, and the rollout of mobile money interoperability, the Ghana Card, and the GPS digital address system—all of which Mahama had reportedly doubted would succeed.
