I Feel Like Insulting Those Who Say I Failed to Deliver Ashanti Region Votes — NAPO Fires Back at Critics

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh aka NAPO, the vice-presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 elections, has lashed out at critics who claim he failed to secure votes for the party in the Ashanti Region.

Speaking in Parliament, NAPO, as he is popularly known, expressed his frustration with journalists who question him about the party’s loss in the region.

According to NAPO, it’s unfair to assume that the NPP lost in the Ashanti Region because voters didn’t come out to vote.

“The whole country didn’t vote,” he emphasized. When Channel 1 presenter Caleb Kudah asked him about the party’s performance in the region, NAPO retorted, “When I hear someone say these things, I really feel like insulting that person.”

This outburst is not the first time NAPO has found himself at the center of controversy. In the past, he has made headlines for his comments on various issues, including the allocation of resources for victims of the Keta tidal waves and the use of rubber bags by senior high school students to defecate due to lack of toilet facilities.

NAPO’s response to his critics has sparked a heated debate, with some defending his right to express his frustration, while others have criticized him for his choice of words.
