
<p>Kennedy Ohene Agyapong&#8217;s campaign staff has angrily refuted the circulating rumors that the Assin Central Member of Parliament is considering quitting the flagbearer race.</p>



<p>His team has declared that Mr. Agyapong is completely committed to taking part in the next New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer elections, which are scheduled to take place in November, in a clear and uncompromising statement.</p>



<p>The vocal politician&#8217;s campaign team has informed the people with unflinching resolve that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong is not only seriously running but is also well-equipped to contend for the coveted NPP flagbearer position.</p>



<p>Their unambiguous approach attempts to dispel any rumors and doubts around his candidacy while reiterating his commitment to the party&#8217;s internal election process.</p>



<p>Kennedy Ohene Agyapong&#8217;s decision to maintain his position as the November flagbearer elections approach demonstrates his dedication to supporting the NPP&#8217;s democratic processes and his willingness to vigorously compete for the party&#8217;s top post.</p>

<p>Our attention has been called to a rumor that is going about, especially on social media, that Hon. Ken Ohene Agyapong will shortly announce his resignation from the New Patriotic Party&#8217;s (NPP) Presidential primaries slated for November 4 of this year.</p>



<p>The Honorable John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen withdrew from the campaign on Monday, prompting the rumor.</p>



<p>&#8220;We would like to declare categorically that Honourable Ken Ohene Agyapong is dedicated to continuing the race and has never thought about quitting.</p>



<p>&#8220;We want to reassure each and every one of our thronging fans that the Ken Ohene Agyapong campaign team is implementing all essential plans to guarantee a &#8220;Showdown&#8221; on November 4.</p>



<p>&#8220;We therefore urge the general public, in particular our throngs of supporters and beloved delegates of the NPP, to disregard the rumor and treat with the utmost contempt any news or message that purports to Ken&#8217;s withdrawal from the race.&#8221; On September 7th, the group released a statement.</p>



<p>With a total of 629 votes, or 68.15% of the vote, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia won the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Special Delegates&#8217; Conference.</p>



<p>Former trade minister Alan Kyerematen finished third with 95 votes, or 10.29%, followed by Assin Central MP Kennedy Agyapong in second place with 132 votes, or 14.30%.</p>



<p>Meanwhile, Hon. Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng, nicknamed Alan Cash, a former trade minister and New Patriotic Party presidential candidate, has resigned from the race.</p>



<p>The contender made it apparent in a statement issued a few days ago that he is no longer interested in running for president since, in his opinion, the results of the recently conducted Special Delegate Congress were biased in favor of one candidate.</p>



<p>He claimed that statements made by some of the party&#8217;s top figures made it plain to him that a favorite had already been selected and that there was nothing he could do to change it.</p>



<p>Before he stood back to support Nana Akuffo Addo, the president of Ghana at the time, Alan Cash, as he was affectionately known, was in a good position to be the party&#8217;s presidential candidate.</p>



<p>Many people are not surprised by his intentions to withdraw because Dr. Bawumia, who is the vice president and a candidate, seems to have the upper hand.</p>
