Joseph Akinfenwa Donus, popularly known as Joeboy in the public, one of Nigeria’s top Afrobeats artists, has admitted that he occasionally converses with plants and that, on occasion, it is preferable to conversing with people.
The ‘Sip’ singer revealed that he converses with four different plants in his room when appearing as a guest on the most recent episode of the Zero Conditions podcast.
Spirituality, he said, is “very important.”
“You require a spiritual foundation. It is quite crucial. You have to pray if you don’t practice jazz [voodoo], he said.
Joeboy explained that he is a lover of nature when asked why he has tattoos of trees on various regions of his body.
“I enjoy being in nature. I enjoy being around plants. My room has about four plants. Anthony, Themal, Raphael, and Vanessa are their names. And I communicate with them. Just my feelings, I tell them. I suppose there are instances when talking to plants is preferable to talking to people,” he said.
