Juju Scare Hits Karaga As Buried Charms Are Retrieved From Polling Station

The Karaga Constituency in the Northern Region has been hit by a juju scare after buried charms were retrieved from a polling station ahead of the Special Voting exercise on Monday, December 2, 2024.

According to (link unavailable), an aide to the Finance Minister, Abd Alhaliim Tikuma, discovered the charms at one of the polling stations.

Tikuma revealed that he acted on a tip-off and dug out the charms, which were buried in three different locations.

The contents of the charms were reportedly related to elections, leading Tikuma to suspect that their political opponents were behind the charms. However, he expressed confidence that their “evil machinations” would not succeed.

This development comes as the Karaga Constituency prepares for the December 7 general elections.

The constituency has become a major focus for political watchers, with Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam seeking re-election as Member of Parliament (MP) for the area.

Adam, who won the seat for the first time on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2020 polls, faces stiff competition from his contender, Alhassan Sualihu Dandaawa of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The Karaga Constituency has historically been a stronghold of the NDC, but Adam’s victory in the 2020 polls has made the constituency a key battleground in the upcoming elections.
