Kennedy Agyapong Is Criticised For His Absurd Proposal To Implement A 6-Month Military National Service

Twitter users are criticising Kennedy Agyapong, a candidate for the NPP presidential nomination and member of parliament for Assin Central, for his proposals to enact a 6-month military national service requirement.

Social media users claim that Agyapong is coming up with absurd ideas in an effort to alienate young people, rather than making an effort to win them over.

In a recent interview, the NPP flagbearer proposed a new national service programme that would this time include military training.

He thinks that the youth are too disorganised, and that it would be better for the nation if everyone had to go through military training.

Every member of the national service and every university grad will go through a six-month military training programme, he claimed, due to the lack of discipline in Ghana.

Young Ghanaians responded to his Twitter comment by unanimously kicking against the proposal.

One netizen said, “Instead of you trying to get the youth on your side, you’re chasing us away.”

Another user on the internet questioned, “Why not organise National Farms and move them there?”

“This man has 22 children, but not a single one of them has a passport from Ghana or pledges allegiance to that country, and you want to be president. Are you serious, masa?
