An ongoing building project belonging to former Liberty Professionals and TP Mazembe defender, Richard Boateng, has been demolished by suspected landguards.
Boateng claimed to have purchased the property in Kasoa Millennium City adjacent to a mosque.
According to Boateng, he initially gave community members a portion of his land for Eid celebrations, as he was not ready to develop the property. However, tensions arose when these individuals began to claim ownership of the land.
Boateng recounted his efforts to resolve the dispute, including constructing a wall around his property and involving the police. Despite his legal actions, the landguards destroyed the wall and threatened further action.
Speaking on the incident, Boateng clarified that he obtained permission from 21st Century Real Estate, the registered owner of the land, to develop it. However, the landguards persisted in their efforts to prevent him from doing so.
Despite ongoing litigation and police involvement, Boateng described continued threats and harassment from the landguards. He emphasized his rightful ownership of the land, having purchased it from the chiefs.
Boateng’s ordeal highlights the challenges faced by individuals seeking to secure their property rights in the face of land disputes and alleged criminal activities perpetrated by landguards.
