Popular Ghanaian actor and comedian, LilWin, known in private life as Kwadwo Nkansah, has opened up on why he will never endorse any political party, unlike some of his celebrity colleagues.
According to LilWin, his decision is based on the fact that most Ghanaians do not understand politics. He emphasized that he is not interested in accepting money from politicians to endorse them, stating that “it’s not every money that I have to go and take, but the little that God has given me, I like it that way.”
LilWin drew comparisons with the United States, where celebrities often endorse political candidates without facing backlash.
“In America, you can see celebrities endorsing Trump or Harris, but here in Ghana, when you decide to do the same, it becomes a big issue,” he noted.
The actor also expressed concerns that publicly affiliating with a political party could harm his reputation and business ventures.
“Apart from acting, I have a school that I’m managing, so being affiliated with the NDC or NPP might be problematic, but it shouldn’t have been so,” he said.
His decision to remain neutral is likely to be seen as a pragmatic move to avoid controversy and protect his brand.
