<p>The incident unfolded on Saturday, November 25, right in front of a crowd of concerned shoppers. </p>



<p>In a video capturing the event, the mermaid can be seen swimming upwards before her tail unexpectedly catches on the reef at the tank&#8217;s bottom.</p>

<p>Faced with a struggle for breath, the skilled performer swiftly removes her tail, making a quick ascent to the surface for much-needed air.</p>
