Ghanaian cleric, Prophet Ebenezer Adarkwa Yiadom, popularly known as Prophet One or Opambour, has issued a stern warning to President Nana Akufo-Addo to repay the funds allocated to the National Cathedral project before leaving office.
According to Opambour, he is the representative of God on Earth and will ensure that the money is retrieved in God’s name.
The National Cathedral project, initiated by the NPP government under President Akufo-Addo, aimed to build a national place of worship to honor God.
However, the project has been marred by controversy, with over $50 million spent and nothing to show for it except a massive hole in the ground that has become a breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Opambour’s warning comes on the heels of similar criticisms from other quarters, including Prophet Kofi Oduro, who warned that Ghana is on a path of destruction unless President Akufo-Addo repents and embraces humility.
Additionally, there have been calls for President Akufo-Addo to be surcharged for the financial losses incurred due to the failed project.
