Nigerian life coach, influencer, and writer, Solomon Buchi, has caused a stir on social media after he suggested that men who do not take advantage of indecently dressed or drunk women should be rewarded with a sum of 2 million naira.
Solomon, in a now-deleted tweet, wrote that “When a man doesn’t rape an indecently dressed woman or a drunk woman, he should be rewarded with like 2M Naira. It’s not easy to be a decent human being.”
The post sparked mixed reactions on social media, with some individuals labeling the man a ‘rape apologist’ and others criticizing the statement.
However, some individuals also expressed support for Solomon’s opinion.
In response to the criticism, Solomon clarified that his statement was aimed at promoting good behavior and encouraging men to do the right thing.
He also acknowledged that there should be no excuse whatsoever for rape and that his post had been taken out of context.
