Akua Donkor, the founder and flagbearer of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has passed away at Ridge Hospital in Accra.
Family members confirmed her passing on Tuesday, October 29, stating she had died the previous day, Monday, October 28.
The cause of her death remains undisclosed.
Akua Donkor was a prominent figure in Ghanaian politics, known for her outspoken and bold style, championing the needs of grassroots communities, particularly women and farmers.
Her political career began as Assemblywoman for Herman, followed by multiple presidential runs, showcasing her resilience and determination.
As the GFP leader, Akua Donkor was listed as the third candidate on the 2024 presidential election ballot, demonstrating her unwavering commitment to advocacy.
