In a viral video available to us at occupygh.com, a Muslim cleric has caused shock and disbelief by offering financial counsel to ‘Yahoo boys’ on how to spend their illicit earnings wisely.
During a preaching event, the cleric cautioned individuals involved in fraudulent activities, known as ‘Yahoo,’ to reconsider their spending habits.
He specifically targeted those who splurge their earnings on luxury items like hotel stays after receiving money from clients.
Instead, the cleric suggested allocating funds for specific purposes, including charitable giving, data subscriptions, and food, in a bid to use the money more responsibly and avoid attracting undue attention.
He explained that, for instance, if someone received $50 and needed to convert it to N40,000, they should spend N30,000 on Sobun, N3,000 on data subscription, N1,000 on charitable giving, and the final N6,000 on food until the Sobun starts working for Yahoo instead of staying in a hotel and consuming the money.
