A woman in her late 40s was reportedly abandoned in a bush in Gomoa Ojobi by officials from Winneba Government Hospital, according to UTV Ghana.
The woman, who remains unidentified, was allegedly left in the bush by an ambulance from the hospital. She had been involved in an accident on the Ojobi road, which caused a brain injury, and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
UTV reporter Jacob Kubi stated that Dr. George Prah, the medical superintendent of Winneba Government Hospital, confirmed that the woman had been admitted three months ago. Despite efforts, none of her family members came forward.
Due to the severity of her brain injury, the woman often shouted and disturbed other patients, leading hospital officials to abandon her in the bush, hoping her family would find her there.
Dr. George Prah explained that while the families of other accident victims came to the hospital, no one came for her. Although the plan was to treat her and gather information, she responded slowly to treatment, and attempts to contact her family were unsuccessful.
