Over 4,000 residents in Ghana’s southeastern region have been forced to abandon their homes due to widespread flooding following the Akosombo Dam Spillage.
Ghanaian actress and media personality Naa Ashorkor who visits the affected communities took to her social media pages to share some updates.
Sharing an image of herself in a small boat maneuvering the affected communities, Naa noted that public toilets in the vicinities have been submerged amidst the flood.
This has caused the water in the place to smell like sh*t.
“Fighting back tears out here. The water smells like sh*t. Public toilets have been submerged. Let your imagination do the rest. The public health risks and potential for an outbreak of disease is scary! There are children and, babies, old & vulnerable people here #Mepe”, she noted.
