Nana Akufo Addo Stoned At Rally: Netizens React As 2016 Video Resurfaces

A 2016 trending video that captures the moment President Nana Akufo Addo was stoned at a rally at Klottey Korle has just surfaced online as netizens go berserk over it.

The person who has still not been identified hurled a missile at the then-opposition leader Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo as he addressed supporters.

It all happened so quickly as the 72-year-old began to plead with supporters to vote for the then NPP’s parliamentary aspirant for the area, Philip Addison.

Akufo Addo was compelled to pause his delivery, turning to complain to those beside him on the platform that someone had hit him with a stone.

“Someone just threw a stone at me, why?” he asked. But he quickly resumed his delivery, saying: “No problem, this is our politics in Ghana.

“I would wish that when we are moving [to the Flagstaff House], you allow Philip Addison to come along with me. Our party, the Party of the Elephant, we know of only one candidate for Klottey Korle. He is Philip Addison. We know of no other person. We go to primaries to elect someone before he can contest [on our ticket]. So please make no mistake – NPP is the only party capable of removing the NDC from power. No other political organisation in Ghana can do it.”

Netizens have since berserk over the throwback video:

@spaceboy9090:
“We all know that it sucks but we have to take it into consideration. We don’t have to stone our father like that. Such a disrespectful act”

@IAMAWARRIORESS:
Ghanaians are sending a signal to him, so he for make study

@MustWin15533762:

@kofi_paha:
Ghanaians deserve anything that’s happening to us because we made this man suffer too much before becoming president.
