Renowned Kumawood actress and NDC supporter Christiana Awuni has made headlines with her controversial remarks about Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, also known as Napo, during a campaign rally at Weija.
The actress, while addressing party faithful, openly criticized the Education Minister and Vice President hopeful of the NPP, describing him as having “low IQ.” Her comments have sparked significant debate, especially as political tensions rise ahead of the upcoming elections.
Christiana Awuni did not hold back in her speech, urging the people of Weija to vote overwhelmingly for the NDC’s flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama.
She blamed the current hardships in the country on the mismanagement of the Akufo-Addo-led government, stating that Ghana’s economic challenges could only be resolved through Mahama’s leadership.
“Ghana is going through hard times because of this government’s incompetence. It will take only John Mahama to make Ghana better and improve the lives of the people,” she declared.
In her speech, Awuni recounted an incident where she allegedly saw Dr. Opoku Prempeh on TikTok campaigning for the NPP. According to her, the minister’s actions reflected poor judgment.
“No sensible person would make such a mistake,” she remarked, doubling down on her criticism.
The comments have drawn mixed reactions, with some NDC supporters lauding her boldness while others, particularly from the NPP, have condemned her remarks as unprofessional and disrespectful.
