Neymar officially Departs Paris Saint-Germain For Al Hilal In Saudi Arabia (Details)

Neymar, a Brazilian striker, has signed a two-year deal with Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia, the BBC reported on Monday.

The striker missed PSG’s Ligue 1 opener against Lorient because of a viral illness. He moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2017 for a then-record 222 million euro ($243 million) transfer fee from the Spanish club Barcelona.

Neymar will reunite with his former coworkers Kalidou Koulibaly, Rubem Neves, and Sergej Milinkovik-Savic after going to Al Hilal earlier this year.

Al Hilal, Al Ahli, Al Ittihad, and Al Nasr were all purchased by the KSA Public Investment Fund (PIF) in June as part of the country’s “Sports Clubs Investment and Privatization Project.”

The four teams made alluring offers to some of the top athletes during this year’s transfer window.

After being sensationally bought by Paris Saint-Germain from Barcelona in a €222 million deal in 2017, Neymar still holds the record for being the most expensive player in football history.

Neymar has departed Paris Saint-Germain after six tumultuous years in the French metropolis, where he constantly struggled with injuries and off-field issues.

Neymar has had success at Paris Saint-Germain by winning 13 domestic titles, five Ligue 1 titles, and a second-place finish in the 2020 Champions League final.
