<p class="has-medium-font-size">A piece of breaking news reaching us from Nigeria indicates that Super Eagle&#8217;s national coach Austin Eguavoen has resigned as the interim technical adviser after losing the World Cup spot to Ghana in the playoff in Abuja.</p>



<p>According to Blueprint, a source in the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) disclosed that he decided to step down following Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.</p>

<p>The FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be held in Qatar between Nov and Dec. 2022.</p>



<p>The source told Blueprint that Eguavoen has handed over his resignation letter to NFF.</p>



<p>Brila FM said he will now return to his role as Technical Director of all national teams.</p>



<p>NFF is, however, yet to release an official statement.</p>
