Just In: Nigerian Scientists Discovers COVID-19 Vaccine

Reports just in to OccupyGh.com indicates that a group of Nigerian Scientists, under the aegis of COVID-19 Research Group, on Friday, June 19, 2020, announced the discovery of a vaccine for the novel COVID-19 pandemic.

According to reports from The Guardian, the “Adeleke University, Ede, in Osun, Dr. Oladipo Kolawole, Leader of the team, said the vaccine was being developed locally in Africa for Africans.”

However, the Nigerian scientists disclosed that the vaccine can be used on other continents when it is ready. They also stated that the discovery of the vaccine was funded by the Trinity Immunodeficient Laboratory and Helix Biogen Consult, Ogbomosho.

The group noted that they worked extensively on the SARS-CoV-2 genome from other countries to help them arrive at the best possible potential latent vaccine constructs.

According to the leader of the team, the said vaccine would take a minimum of 18 months to be unveiled because it needs thorough analysis and approval from medical authorities.

This is a big breakthrough for Africans as the continent awaits. More details coming. Visit  OccupyGh.com for more stories.
