So I was about to sleep when I saw this image making rounds on social media with the inscription – The Door Of Return | Nigeria 2020.
The first thing that clouded my mind was, “wow, Nigerians have finally copied the ‘Year of Return’.”
The second thought was, “are these Nigerians going to do it better than the Ghanaians?”, I mean let’s be real here Nigerians are good at imitating and they do it so well it most difficult to tell the original from the copycat.
Nevertheless, I thought to myself, “oh maybe this is a good initiative as well, so what if they copied, nothing is new on this planet.”
The Year of Return is a Ghanaian initiative calling for Africans in the diaspora to come to Africa (especially Ghana) to settle and invest in the continent.
