A group of New Patriotic Party (NPP) polling agents in the Ejisu constituency have taken to the streets to demand payment for their services during the just-ended election.
The agents, who observed the election, picketed at the party’s office in the constituency, claiming that party executives have refused to pay them the agreed amount.
According to one of the polling agents, the party had promised to pay them for their dedicated work during the election, but have since reneged on their promise. This has led to the agents taking matters into their own hands and protesting outside the party office.

The protest has brought attention to the often-overlooked role of polling agents in the electoral process.
These agents play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity of the election, and it is only fair that they are compensated for their work.
The NPP has yet to comment on the situation, but it is clear that the party needs to take immediate action to address the concerns of its polling agents. The party’s reputation is at stake, and failure to pay its agents could damage its credibility with its supporters.
