Renowned Ghanaian man of God, Rev Kweku Adjei Antwi, popularly known as Asanteman Obofour of the Anointed Palace Chapel (APC), has shed light on what he believes led to the downfall of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the recently concluded 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.
According to Obofour, the NPP’s loss can be attributed to the arrogance and corruption that permeated the party’s ranks while in office.
Speaking during a recent sermon, Obofour lamented that government appointees had become increasingly arrogant, forgetting that they owed their positions to the very Ghanaians they were supposed to serve.
“Their behavior was unacceptable,” Obofour stated. “They forgot that Ghanaians had put them in power, and instead, they chose to lord it over them.”
Obofour also highlighted the rampant corruption that characterized the NPP’s tenure in office. He emphasized that Ghanaians had grown tired of the corruption and arrogance, and ultimately decided to “teach them a lesson” on December 7th.
Obofour’s comments come as the NPP continues to grapple with the aftermath of its election defeat.
