The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, has declared that the party will ensure that former President John Dramani Mahama engages in a debate with Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia before the 2024 elections.
According to Boasiako, the debate is crucial for Ghanaians to understand the policies of the two major political parties, and Mahama cannot avoid it. “We will follow him everywhere with the debate,” he emphasized.
Boasiako defended the NPP’s performance, citing the global economic challenges caused by COVID-19 and the Russia-Ukraine War.
He highlighted the government’s achievements, including employing nurses and security personnel, paying government workers, and reviving the economy.
The NPP chairman’s comments suggest that the party is determined to challenge Mahama to a debate, setting the stage for a potentially intense political showdown ahead of the 2024 elections.
