Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Chairman Wontumi, has finally spoken out after the December 7 general election.
His silence had been highly anticipated by netizens, especially given his vocal proclamations before the election that the NPP would emerge victorious.
However, the election results told a different story, and Chairman Wontumi’s reaction has been eagerly awaited. In a video circulating on social media, the Regional Chairman acknowledged the NPP’s loss, stating that as humans, “sometimes we cry, and others we laugh.”
He expressed gratitude to the people of the Ashanti Region for their support, despite the outcome.
Chairman Wontumi also commended Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia for congratulating President-elect John Dramani Mahama, demonstrating maturity in the face of defeat.
