Christian Atsu Twasam perished in the Turkish Earthquake on the 18th of February 2023.
He was known as a Ghanaian professional footballer who mainly played as a winger, even though he was sometimes deployed as an attacking midfielder or left-back.
On the 6th of February 2023, Twasam went missing in the immediate aftermath of the 2023 Turkey–Syria earthquake; he was reported to be among those trapped under the rubble of Hatayspor’s headquarters in Antakya following the massive quake.
On the 18th of February, confirmation was received by his agent that his body was taken from the rubble of the building he was living in.
Christian Atsu Twasam goes home on Friday. The forecourt of the State House will be the venue for the former Newcastle player’s final funeral rite.
His obituary has been released as his funeral is being anticipated.
