President Akufo-Addo has sent a clear message to former President and flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, stating that he will not step aside for Mahama to compete with his Vice President, Dr. Mahamoud Bawumia.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Atafoa bridge in Kumasi, President Akufo-Addo revealed that he had received information from Mahama, suggesting that he should step aside to allow Mahama to compete with Bawumia.
However, the President made it clear that he would not sit idly by and allow Mahama to compete with his Vice President.
President Akufo-Addo emphasized the importance of the upcoming election, stating that as a staunch Ghanaian, he would involve himself fully in the process.
This statement is seen as a clear indication that the President is ready to campaign vigorously for his party’s candidate.
It is worth noting that John Mahama has been critical of the Akufo-Addo administration, accusing them of mismanaging the economy and causing hardship for Ghanaians.
Mahama has also presented his party’s manifesto, outlining his vision for the country and promising to reset the economy and restore accountability in governance.
