Member of Parliament-elect for Gomoa Central, Kwame A Plus, has lambasted the Christian Council, civil society organizations, and prominent Akan voices for their deafening silence on the current power crisis in Ghana.
According to A Plus, these groups have historically been vocal during crises, but have mysteriously remained silent under President Nana Akufo-Addo’s administration.
A Plus took to Facebook to express his disappointment, calling out the Christian Council and other groups for their perceived bias and hypocrisy.
He noted that these groups had openly criticized the previous administration under John Dramani Mahama, but have chosen to remain silent in the face of the current power crisis.
“Speak now or forever hold your peace! Be like Christ, who was unbiased and fearless. Look the nation in the eye and tell the truth,” A Plus wrote, urging the Christian Council to act with courage and integrity.
A Plus also criticized the Council for reserving their voices for when the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is in power.
“Do not wait for John Mahama to be sworn in before you start speaking out, like Balaam’s donkey in the Bible. You are human beings, not donkeys—act like it!” he emphasized.
