Shatta Wale To Face 3-Years In Prison For Spread Of False Statement

Charles Nii Armah Mensah aka Shatta Wale after his crew reported that he has been shot at East Legon by unknown gunmen turned out to be a false and publicity stunt.

However, the Ghana Police took it personally and began with a strong Investigation which led to the arrest of his crew who made the fake publication.

Shatta Wale however reported himself to the Police Station and was detained immediately which made him spend his night behind bars.

However, a Private Legal Practitioner, Samson Lardy has reacted to Shatta Wale’s case on Joy News.

He stated: “Section 208 of our Criminal and Other Offences Act says that you will face up to 3 years in jail if you don’t verify and spread false statements, rumours or reports that can cause fear and panic
