South Africa is set to experience a significant drop in fuel prices starting Wednesday, September 4, 2024, marking the fourth consecutive month of reductions.
Petrol prices will see a decrease of 92 cents per liter for both 93 and 95 octanes. Diesel prices will also drop, with a reduction of 79 cents per liter for 0.05% sulfur diesel and R1.05 per liter for the lower sulfur 0.005% variant.
Illuminating paraffin will see a decrease of over R1 per liter, while LP gas prices will go down by 10 cents per kilogram.

The price cuts are driven by a decline in international Brent Crude oil prices and a stronger South African Rand against the US Dollar, lowering the cost of fuel imports.
The zero slate levy on petrol and diesel further supports these reductions, offering relief to consumers.
