
<p style="font-size:25px"><strong>A tragic incident has occurred in Mbombela, Mpumalanga, South Africa, where a municipal official in charge of enforcing bylaws shot dead a traffic law enforcement officer. </strong></p>



<p>The incident happened on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at Kwanyoni Lodge in Nelspruit. </p>



<p>The official allegedly found the deceased man with his wife in one of the chalets and shot him twice, resulting in the victim&#8217;s death. The woman was not harmed in the incident.</p>

<p>The alleged killer, a 38-year-old municipal police officer, was arrested and is set to appear in court soon. </p>



<p>The crime scene was attended by the Hawks Nelspruit-based Serious Organised Crime Investigation, Nelspruit Vispol, and Nelspruit Local Criminal Record Centre.</p>



<p>The spokesperson for Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security, and Liaison, Moeti Mmusi, confirmed the incident and said the victim was in the company of the suspect&#8217;s wife when the shooting occurred. </p>



<p>The Hawks&#8217; spokesperson in Mpumalanga, Captain Dineo Sekgotodi, said an altercation took place in the chalet, and a broken beer bottle was found.</p>
