4 years ago today, in late January 2016, a Danish aid works went on a rescue mission on the streets of Nigeria and discovered a starving child on the brink of death.

The Danish worker’s name is Anja Ringgren Lovén. She went on to rescue the child known as Hope from death. She was capture on camera tilting a bottle of water towards the boy’s lip.

Hope was an unfortunate kid who was left on the street to die after being accused of witchcraft by his parents.

Anja Ringgren grabs Hope into her arms and took him immediately to the hospital, where he was treated for malnutrition and stomach worms.

Exactly one year after being rescued by the Danish aid worker, Hope started going to school. This is a photo of Hope First day of school with Anja Ringgren Lovén.

Hope was taken good care of in an orphanage home run by Anja Ringgren Lovén and her team, which proved to be a loving home for Hope.

This is a picture of Hope with the other kids accused of witchcraft by their parents learning together.
