Due to allegations that their head teacher misused funds intended for registration fees, some final-year JHS students in the Gomoa East area were left stranded during the BECE.
As the BECE began on August 7, 2023, the head teacher of the Gomoa Budu Atta D/A Junior High School was nowhere to be found.
Adom FM claims that some final-year students were observed sobbing after being unable to take the exam.
The head teacher allegedly took $400 in addition to other fees to register students for the BECE.

One parent claimed that her daughter was unable to write since her index was not visible at the center.
Another mom lamented how this shock might affect the kids.
“You have been sending your child to school all along, and then suddenly they tell you that her name is not included because it will harm any youngster. Even emotional stress will be present, he said.
Some bystanders also begged the authorities to get involved in the situation.
Attempts to contact the headmaster had been made by a few community members, but they had been unsuccessful.
