Tiger Tests Positive For Coronavirus In New York City

A zoo in Bronx Zoo in New York City has recorded a COVID-19 case and shockingly, it is not a human being but a Malayan Tiger which is 4 years old.

The 4 years old tiger’s case is the first known animal case in the United States and presumably the first tiger anywhere in the World.

The tiger whose name has been given as Nadia was exposed to the virus by a staff of the zoo who has since shown any symptoms.

According to reports, the test was conducted by Iowa by the USDA’s National Veterinary Services Laboratory.

The zoo manager has revealed that extreme preventive measure has been put in place to prevent others from suffering the same fate.

“Though they have experienced some decrease in appetite, the cats at the Bronx Zoo are otherwise doing well under veterinary care and are bright, alert, and interactive with their keepers,” the zoo’s release said.
