Tragedy Strikes In Kasoa Iron City As Prison Officer Gideon Adu Boakye Get Lynched

A horrific incident has shaken Kasoa Iron City after Gideon Adu Boakye, a dedicated prison officer at Nsawam Prisons, fell victim to a brutal mob attack on a fateful night.

The power outage that plunged the area into darkness provided a sinister backdrop for the tragedy.

Residents reported hearing Gideon’s desperate pleas for mercy as he was brutally beaten by multiple individuals. Despite his cries, “I’m not a thief, I’m a prison officer!” his attackers showed no remorse, continuing their relentless assault until Gideon’s life slipped away.

The 41-year-old officer’s lifeless body was callously discarded in a nearby gutter, a grim testament to the violence that had unfolded. Police discovered Gideon’s body on October 1, bearing multiple wounds indicative of stab injuries and blunt force trauma from stones.

The Kasoa Police Command has launched an investigation into the heinous crime, seeking to bring perpetrators to justice. Gideon’s untimely demise serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of mob justice and the importance of upholding the rule of law.

The Ghana Prisons Service mourns the loss of a dedicated officer, and his family and colleagues remember him as a loving father, husband, and friend. Justice must prevail for Gideon Adu Boakye.

In a separate incident in Kasoa, a military officer, Lance Corporal Danso, was also killed in a violent altercation over land rights.
