Ghanaian TikTok content creator, Young Don, known for his scathing insults aimed at Ghanaian leaders and public figures, has finally set foot in Ghana after being deported from the United States.
Young Don’s deportation comes on the heels of reports that he was being held in a US detention centre.
The influencer, who had relocated to the US in search of better opportunities, gained notoriety for his online videos that frequently targeted prominent Ghanaian figures, including chiefs and media personalities.
In his quest to emulate Twene Jonas, another contentious social media commentator, Young Don repeatedly lambasted Ghanaian leadership and governance in his videos.
One of his most contentious moments involved alleged disparaging remarks about the Dormahene and other notable figures in Ghana’s media space.
Despite his controversial online presence, Young Don’s fans and followers turned out in droves to welcome him at the Kotoka International Airport. A video circulating on social media shows the moment Young Don was mobbed by his supporters, who were eager to catch a glimpse of the infamous TikTok personality.

The exact reasons behind Young Don’s detention and deportation remain unclear, but speculation suggests that his legal status in the US may have come under scrutiny.
As Young Don settles back into life in Ghana, it remains to be seen whether he will continue to stir up controversy with his online commentary.
