The University of Ghana (UG) has announced a new policy to withdraw students with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) below 1.00 from specific colleges, starting from the 2023/2024 academic year.

The affected colleges include the Colleges of Basic and Applied Sciences, Education, and Humanities.

In a statement issued by the Academic Affairs Directorate of UG, current level 200 and level 300 students who have received their examination results for the 2022/2023 academic year and have obtained a CGPA below the approved minimum for their respective colleges will receive official withdrawal letters via their UG email addresses.

Additionally, students who have already paid their tuition fees for the 2023/2024 academic year and are affected by this policy can request a refund.

The move by the university aims to maintain higher academic standards and ensure that students are meeting the necessary criteria for progression in their chosen fields of study.
