Some players and officials of Medeama SC have reportedly been denied visas by the United States Embassy in Ghana, jeopardizing their friendly match against DC United in Washington.

The friendly had been scheduled for October 14, 2023, between the Ghana Premier League champions and the MLS side.

According to sources, the US Embassy granted visas to only 13 out of 19 players submitted by the Tarkwa-based club.

Notably, star midfielder Godknows Jakpasu was among the six players whose visa applications were rejected.

Furthermore, several key officials, including Medeama’s CEO, Felix Tetteh Zutah, were also denied visas, casting doubt on the team’s preparations for the game.
