Villagers Kill Gigantic Crocodile Almost The Size Of A Car | PHOTOS
A Crocodile weighing about a half-tonne has been transported to a burial site in Indonesia after it was hunted by villagers.
According to the Sun UK, the 4.5-meter-long reptile was hunted by villagers in Bangka Belitung Islands because they feared the beast was an evil spirit.
The crocodile named Demon, estimated to be 50 years, was killed by terrified locals who then transported to a burial site using a bulldozer.
The crocodile’s head and body were buried separately because the villagers believe that this will prevent the animal from haunting them.
Before the massive creature was laid six-feet under, authorities arrived at the scene and found that it had no teeth.
Head of Septian Garo, a local conversation center, said officials negotiated with the villagers to let them handle the 500kg body but superstitious locals insisted on keeping the animal for religious reasons.
He said: “There was a belief that the crocodile should not be removed from the village because it is a demon.”
