Volta Regional Minister James Gunu has committed to spending the night with victims displaced by the recent tidal waves in the Ketu South Constituency.
In a Facebook post, he emphasized the importance of experiencing their struggles firsthand while working on long-term solutions.
The disaster has left over 600 people homeless, with Amutinu, Agavedzi, and Salakope among the hardest-hit areas.

The waves have not only destroyed homes but also burial sites, forcing some families to exhume their loved ones.
Residents have called for urgent government intervention, citing recurring devastation caused by rising sea levels.
Gunu’s symbolic act has drawn both praise and scrutiny, with many hoping it translates into concrete policy action.
As discussions on coastal protection intensify, affected communities await lasting solutions to prevent future displacements.
