President Nana Akufo-Addo has welcomed President-elect John Mahama to the Jubilee House for a tour on Monday, January 6, 2025.
This marks the final phase of the transition process, with Mahama’s inauguration scheduled for tomorrow.
During the tour, Akufo-Addo expressed confidence in the incoming administration, stating, “The country awaits your leadership from tomorrow.” He assured Mahama of his readiness to support the new government, ensuring a smooth handover of power.
Mahama, accompanied by Vice President-elect Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, expressed gratitude to Akufo-Addo and his transition team for facilitating a peaceful and smooth process.

“We are ready with the information we’ve received to begin work immediately after the ceremony tomorrow,” Mahama remarked.
As they toured the Jubilee House, Mahama highlighted his familiarity with the premises, noting that although he didn’t live there during his previous presidency, he knew the geography of the area.
The inauguration ceremony, scheduled for tomorrow, will mark the official start of Mahama’s term. The event is expected to be attended by dignitaries and heads of state, underscoring Ghana’s commitment to democratic values and peaceful transitions of power.
