Watch The Beautiful Moment Mahama Displayed The State Sword For The Third Time As The President Of Ghana

In a historic moment, President John Dramani Mahama proudly displayed the Sword of State as he took the oath of office for his second term as Ghana’s 6th President under the Fourth Republic.

This marked the third time Mahama has held the sword as the leader of the country.

The Sword of State, a powerful symbol of presidential authority, was first held by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah at Ghana’s first presidential inauguration in 1960. Today, it continues to represent leadership and unity for Ghana.

During Mahama’s inauguration, the sword was carried before him as he was sworn in, underscoring the continuity of the office he now holds.

Crafted from solid gold, the Sword of State is adorned with ethnic symbols and intricate designs, representing Ghana’s diverse cultures and political authority.

Its double-bladed design is rooted in the Afena-nta symbol, representing inter-state peace and harmony among Ghana’s ethnic groups.

As Mahama stood before the nation, the Sword of State gleamed brightly, symbolizing the weight of responsibility and the remarkable journey ahead. This moment was not just a ceremonial gesture but a poignant reminder of Mahama’s enduring legacy, having previously held the sword during his first term.
