Popular Ghanaian musician Belinda Akua Amoah, better known as Mzbel, has urged Ghanaians to vote for change in the upcoming elections, delivering a forceful critique of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government.

Speaking at a National Democratic Congress (NDC) rally in Kasoa on November 12, 2024, Mzbel expressed deep disappointment with the NPP’s performance, particularly condemning its track record on job creation.

As a vocal supporter of the NDC, Mzbel praised Ghanaians for their resilience and strong work ethic, dismissing claims that the people lack ambition. Instead, she argued that the NPP government has failed to deliver adequate employment opportunities, leaving many to struggle despite their hard work.

“Thank you for coming out in your numbers, from the starting point to the ending point,” she told the crowd. “This huge turnout shows we are tired and fed up. We need change, and change is coming.”

Mzbel highlighted the specific challenges facing Kasoa residents, accusing the NPP of neglecting the area’s economic needs. She argued that with more job opportunities available locally, residents would not need to travel long distances to Accra for work, pointing to this situation as a clear example of the government’s inability to address regional economic disparities.

Her call for change was reinforced by fellow celebrity Big Akwes, who joined her on stage to encourage the crowd to support the NDC and its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, in seeking a new direction for the country. Their shared message resonated with the crowd, underscoring a growing call for political change as election day draws near.
