Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the Vice Presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the recent elections, has issued a stern warning to incoming President John Dramani Mahama to deliver on his electoral promises.
According to NAPO, Mahama made lofty commitments to Ghanaians, including reducing the dollar exchange rate to Ghc 5 and lowering the price of kenkey to Ghc 1.
NAPO emphasized that the NPP would be closely monitoring Mahama’s administration to ensure that these promises are fulfilled.
“We will be calmly waiting for him to deliver on these promises, and if he fails, we will be on hand to remind him,” NAPO cautioned.

It’s worth noting that the prices of basic commodities, including kenkey, have skyrocketed in recent years.
For instance, the price of kenkey has increased from Ghc 1 to Ghc 4, while the price of bread has risen from Ghc 5 to Ghc 20.
Mahama’s promises to reduce the cost of living and stabilize the economy were central to his campaign. As he prepares to assume office, Ghanaians will be watching closely to see if he can deliver on these promises.
