Wife Passes Away From Kidney Failure After Husband Allegedly Pocketed Donations And Took Her To Church For Prayers

A tragic story has emerged involving a woman named Joyce, who passed away from kidney failure after her husband allegedly misused funds donated for her treatment.

The incident, which has sparked outrage online, was first reported by a social media user known as @TheSerahIbrahim on X (formerly Twitter).

In September, @TheSerahIbrahim had taken to the platform to raise funds for Joyce, who was battling severe kidney issues and required urgent medical intervention. Generous individuals contributed to the cause, hoping to save her life.

However, in a shocking twist, it was later revealed that Joyce’s husband had allegedly diverted the donations into his personal account.

Instead of continuing her medical treatment at the hospital, he reportedly removed her and took her to a church for prayers and deliverance.

In a heartbreaking update shared on X, @TheSerahIbrahim announced Joyce’s passing, detailing how the misuse of funds and reliance on non-medical interventions led to the tragedy.

“Thank you, everyone. Sadly, we lost Joyce today,” the post read. “The money we were donating was taken by her husband into his personal account.

He took her out of the hospital and to a church where the pastor claimed they could deliver her. They were praying and giving her herbal concoctions (Agbo) for a kidney problem.”

The social media user further revealed that Joyce had expressed her deteriorating health condition, but her husband and the pastor insisted that she was being healed.

Disturbing voice notes and conversations reportedly document her worsening state and the denial of proper care.

The incident has reignited conversations about the dangers of substituting medical treatment with faith-based interventions, particularly in critical health situations. Many have called for stricter regulations on religious practices that endanger lives.

“The Nigerian Police need to start arresting pastors. Enough is enough,” @TheSerahIbrahim wrote, expressing frustration at the outcome.

The story has drawn widespread criticism, with many demanding accountability from Joyce’s husband and the church involved. Advocacy groups are now urging for public awareness on prioritizing medical care and the responsible use of donated funds.

Joyce’s death serves as a grim reminder of the consequences of neglecting professional medical intervention in favor of unverified alternative treatments.
