A 10-year-old boy has died following the accidental discharge of a local pistol while searching for scrap metals aka “Alumi” on the street.
The boy, searching for scrap metal known as ‘Alumi,’ reportedly found the pistol on the street.
Tragically, after hitting the firearm with a stone, it discharged, hitting him in the chest and resulting in his immediate death.
Eyewitness Mensah recounted the incident, revealing that the boy was with his father at the time, and the circumstances surrounding how the pistol ended up at the scene remain unclear.
The Ghanaian security authorities are investigating the matter.
