In Anambra State, Nigeria, a 56-year-old father named Mr. Kpara was detained on suspicion of defiling his 11-year-old daughter.
At his home in Fegge, Onitsha, the suspect—who is from Adazi-Enu in the state’s Anaocha Local Government Area—committed the act.
According to Chidimma Ikeanyionwu, Ify Obinado’s media assistant, the suspect has been defiling his daughter since her mother’s passing three years ago, according to a statement released on August 3, 2023.
The young girl’s limping was spotted by a good Samaritan, who reported it. When questioned, the kid admitted that her father normally has sex with her every night and has threatened to kill her if she ever tells anybody, which is why she hasn’t raised an alarm, according to the statement.
The victim claims that the suspect, who is her father, began using her after her mother passed away in 2020 and became too protective of her by preventing other family members, acquaintances, and relatives from getting close to her.
While Mr. Kpara refuted the allegations, claiming in his defense that his daughter’s inability to function normally is a result of her falling from the refrigerator, test findings from the hospital where the victim was brought say otherwise.
In response to the news, Hon. Obinabo, who sent her staff to the scene of the tragedy, vowed to investigate further and ensure that justice would be served.
The suspect will be presented in court for arraignment before the Awka Children, Sexual, and Gender Based Violence Magistrate court in the interim.
