President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been tasked to immediately intervene in matters relating to the disgraceful conduct of the Central Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or lose massively in the 2020 general election.
Aggrieved grassroots members of the party who threw the challenge said the Central Regional Chairman of the party, Mr. Robert Kingsford Kutin Junior is a dent on its image and that could lead to the president losing massively in Central Region in the 2020 polls.
They are therefore calling on Mr. Kutin Junior to resign from his post out of shame to protect the image of the party and to also protect the party’s parliamentary seats.
In their view, the suspension of the 1st Regional Vice Chairman, Mr. Horace Ekow Ewusi is unjustifiable and baseless, charging on the National Executive Committee of NPP to as matter of urgency handover the Central Regional Chairmanship position to Mr. Ekow Ewusi instead to redeem the image of the sinking party in the region.
Wielding placards some of which read “Ekow Ewusi the battle is the Lord’s, Kutin must go, Kutin you don’t have such powers, go and pay the NIB loan, sanction Kutin now, Kutin stop collapsing NPP, Kutin the say bomber, Kutin’s selfish interest is destroying the party” among others, they warned of dwindling fortunes of the party.
Briefing the media on behalf of a group calling itself Youth Wing Chairman of Abura Asebu Kwamekess(AAK), Mr. Amos Nyarko sent a strong signal to Chairman Kutin to refrain from all misguided and calculated efforts at Ekow Ewusi and any other regional executive member.
According to him, Ekow Ewusi has been a great asset and contributed enormously to the regional party and the nation as a whole as well as projecting the name of the government and the party.
He enumerated Ekow Ewusi’s contributions to the party including a new storey building Regional Party office, presentation of laptops and printers to all the 23 constituencies Secretaries for party work, motorbikes for all the Communication Officers and youth organizers, cars and busses for all the 23 constituencies, Hyundai Van and Ford pickup for the regional offices to make their work easy.
