
<p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>The Member of Parliament for Subin, Eugene Boakye Antwi, has launched a scathing attack on President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and his family members, blaming them for the New Patriotic Party&#8217;s (NPP) recent electoral defeat.</strong></p>



<p>Speaking on Good Morning Ghana, Boakye Antwi cited arrogance and internal discord as key factors contributing to the party&#8217;s poor performance.</p>



<p>Boakye Antwi expressed concern over the conduct of some Members of Parliament and party leaders during their tenure, noting that their perceived arrogance alienated supporters and created a disconnect with the grassroots.</p>



<p>&#8220;The NPP&#8217;s defeat cannot be discussed without mentioning Akufo-Addo,&#8221; he remarked.</p>



<p>The Subin MP accused the President and certain members of his family of mistreating loyal party members, which he believes deepened divisions within the party and eroded its support base. </p>



<p>&#8220;Akufo-Addo has been the leader of our party since December 2000. I was once his polling agent. How can we avoid holding him accountable for what has happened?&#8221; he asked.</p>

<p>Boakye Antwi also criticized the actions of some family members of the President, alleging that their treatment of the party faithful further weakened the NPP&#8217;s unity and contributed to its decline.</p>



<p>He emphasized that such internal issues must be acknowledged and addressed if the party hopes to rebuild.</p>



<p>This is not the first time Boakye Antwi has spoken out against the NPP&#8217;s leadership. In 2022, he was one of several NPP MPs who called for the removal of Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta due to alleged mismanagement of Ghana&#8217;s economy . Boakye Antwi&#8217;s comments have sparked a heated debate within the NPP, with some calling for introspection and accountability.</p>
