Ato Asare, a prime suspect in a viral video that captures police abuse has finally spoken out.
Ato has provided his clarification regarding the incident that was captured in the viral video.
Ato with other Galamsey site workers was captured in the video abusing two police officers.
The suspects in the video were later picked up by the Ghana police service – the officers were reportedly taken to the investigation bureau about a case of extortion.
Speaking out in regard to the underlying circumstances, Ato has shed more light on the incident, revealing that he and his team are not armed robbers.
He also accused the officers of extortion and was quick to add that he is willing to testify when the need arises.
